My Approach to Therapy

Behavioral and Parent-Child Support
I incorporate principles and skills from DBT to support emotion regulation and distress tolerance for both children and parents. I utilize CBT techniques to help clients identify and challenge unhelpful thought patterns. My approach integrates insights from psychodynamic, relational, neuroscience, and trauma-informed perspectives to explore how early relationships and developmental experiences shape current emotional and relational patterns.
I integrate a Family Systems lens to help clients understand how family dynamics and roles influence behavior and relationships. I draw from Motivational Interviewing to support clients in exploring and resolving ambivalence toward behavioral change.
For parents and children, I incorporate behavioral management and parenting frameworks to address challenges, enhance emotional regulation, and develop practical strategies for positive behavior change. Through collaborative problem-solving and structured guidance, families can implement clear expectations, consistent routines, and positive reinforcement strategies—strengthening connection, resilience, and long-term growth.
